.The Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped more than 725,000 Florida students attend a postsecondary institution. Bright Futures awards include: Florida Academic Scholars award (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars award (FMS), Florida Gold Seal CAPE Scholars award (GSC) and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars award (GSV).
Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) will receive an award to cover 100% of tuition and applicable fees. Students attending a public institution will have tuition and applicable fees covered. Students attending a nonpublic institution will receive a comparable amount as noted in the Private Award Chart. FAS students can receive an award during the summer sessions to cover tuition and applicable fees (page 4 of the Florida Bright Futures Student Handbook).
Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) will receive an award to cover 75% of tuition and applicable fees. Students attending a public institution will have tuition and applicable fees covered. Students attending a nonpublic institution will receive a comparable amount as noted in the Private Award Chart. FMS students can receive an award during the summer sessions to cover tuition and applicable fees. Beginning in fall 2021, students enrolled in an associate degree program at a Florida College System institution will receive an award to cover 100% of tuition and applicable fees (page 4 of the Florida Bright Futures Student Handbook).

Volunteer / Work Hours
All high school students in Hillsborough County are responsible for documenting their individual hours toward Bright Futures. More information is available on the Hillsborough County Public Schools website here.
Volunteer Hours
Hillsborough County Public Schools has switched to a paper document for students to record Volunteer Hours. Students should complete the paper document and bring it to Student Services to be recorded.
Work Hours
